Yesterday, Covenant Baptist Church (CBC) was blessed with the confirmation and covenanting of a new family into membership. We rejoice in the work God is doing in the life of CBC.
In a day when the America Church no longer value's Church membership it is exciting to see foundational premises being reclaimed. CBC is a covenanted body of believers who take membership seriously. We have been called out of darkness into the light of Christ to show forth the praised of God as His people (1 Peter 2:9-10).
CBC is presently studying God's Covenant and eschatology. During our Sunday worship, service we are looking at the characteristics needed for reformation. After going through the Sovereignty of God and the doctrines of grace, we are now focused on Covenant Theology. During the afternoon, we are engaged in a less formal study of eschatology using American Vision's Basic Training for Understanding Bible Prophecy. This allows for plenty of discussion time and pinpointing each participant's questions and topics where more in-depth study is needed.
CBC has enjoyed a tremendous time of worship, study, and fellowship the last several weeks. God is continually compacting and making us a body "fitly joined together."
"For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love." -Ephesians 4:12-16
